Setting up a dual boot Windows 2000 and GNU/Debian Linux

Some introductionary notes: all howtos and guides tell you explicitly to FIRST install win2k, afterwards Linux. Also they tell you to NOT use LILO but the NTDLR (NT 4.0/2000/XP) as boot manager.
Note by myself: I’m trying to install both Win2k and a GNU/Debian Linux-based distribution called Damn Small Linux on a notebook with a 300 MHz CPU, 196 MB RAM and 12 GB HDD (CD-ROM anyway, but this doesnt count much these days).
Right now I’ve found out you oughta let Win2k do the partinioning ITSELF to get a proper working Win2k - do NOT try to use cfdisk or xfdisk found in any proper linux distro - it wont work!
